Meet Our Speaker: Sophie Townsend

Sophie Townsend is a Product Manager at Steno, where she focuses on enhancing the provider experience and building innovative solutions for the court reporting industry. She began her career in sales at a court reporting agency before transitioning into health tech, where she spent several years developing products that helped people make healthier food choices. Drawn back to the legal industry, Sophie is now dedicated to revolutionizing court reporting technology and improving the experience for providers. With a deep understanding of both the industry and product development, she is passionate about creating solutions that drive efficiency and ease for court reporters.

Treissa Matakaetis

After spending 3.5 years on the Production team, I'm taking on a new role at Steno as Reporter Success Manager.  I’m thrilled to be joining the oh-so-talented and amazing court reporter team. I’ll be working alongside Lisa Thomas, our liaison, to ensure you succeed here as a court reporter.  I started my career in court reporting as a stenographer in the Pennsylvania area, then shifted into scoping and proofreading after needing to take fully remote work (I was my grandfather's caretaker).  After COVID, I found Steno through a friend and reporter who was working for Steno and have been here ever since.

Lisa P. Thomas

Lisa brings extensive experience in court reporting, litigation support, and account management to her role as Court Reporter Liaison at The Steno Agency. Beginning her career as a freelance court reporter, she has worked in various capacities within the industry, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities court reporters encounter.

Her focus is on fostering a supportive, collaborative environment where court reporters can excel. She is dedicated to integrating innovative technology, providing professional development opportunities, and ensuring court reporters feel valued and empowered. With a deep understanding of the profession, she works to remove obstacles, streamline workflows, and create the conditions that allow court reporters to do their best work and achieve lasting success.
